Open Day
We are having an Open Day on Tuesday 8th November 2011 from 11.30am to 3.30pm at 191 Belle Vue Road, Leeds LS3 1HG. There will be free art workshops and creative activities open to all, an exhibition showing the history of Artlink and community arts in Leeds as well as artwork from many of our members, and refreshments will be available. The Open Day is free entry, and there is no need to book, just pop in when you can and stay for as long as you like! For more information please phone us on 0113 2431005.

Grants For The Arts Funding

Artlink successfully received funding from Arts Council England's Grants For The Arts to fund the re-launch of Artlink following the major refurbishment project.  Stay tuned for new publicity material and a new website!


Artlink West Yorkshire

Arts Council England National Portfolio.

We are delighted with the news that we have received three year funding from 2012 - 2015 giving Artlink National Portfolio status.


Wakefield Support Group for Autism 

We were delighted to host a 2 day theatre project during the summer holidays for young people who attend the group.  Participants entered the world of Dr Who over the 2 days with artists Tom Bailey and Helen MacDonald!


Open Door Project

Thanks to the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, Artlink has raised money for a two year project to run creative informal education projects with groups and communities across Leeds. The Open Door project will enable people to participate in activities to help build confidence, self esteem and develop new skills through a range of arts based workshops.

Refurbishment Complete

After several years of hard work, we have done it.  A total of £365,000 has been raised for the 2nd phase of our building renovation work which has now been completed.

This 2nd phase of the work involved exciting changes, with the installation of a lift, a complete refurbishment of the downstairs and the basement area being transformed into a bright new studio and workshop space opening out onto the garden.

The work was completed in May 2011 and we moved back in the same month.  We held an official Re-Launch event in November 2011.  Take a look at the project page for further details.

Success!

Artlink's bid to Comic Relief to fund a project with the Eating Disorders Unit at the Newsam Centre, Leeds has been successful. £55,223 will enable us to work with the unit for 3 years to develop an innovative programme of creative projects with staff and patients. 

Creative Partnerships

Once again we are pleased to be working with CAPE UK on a range of schools enquiry projects in Leeds.  This year we will be working with five schools: Parklands Girls High School, Kippax Ash Tree Primary School, Farsley Farfield Primary School in Pudsey, Weetwood Primary School and Hugh Gaitskill Primary School, in Beeston. A range of exciting projects are being planned stages including and we hope to working with some great artists and performers once again.
