“I liked being with other people”

Artists Sarah MacHenry and Sarah Spicer worked with four hostels in the South Leeds area where residents are about to embark upon Independent Living.

The aim was to use various visual arts techniques to explore positive and negative issues and concerns around this move. Residents started taster sessions in individual hostels and then moved on to work collectively at Artlinks’ premises. They explored a variety of issues related to ‘moving on’, which were brought together in two vibrant digitally produced banners.
